Hi, I’m Hal Melia. I’m a versatile musician with a career spanning performance, composition, arranging, and teaching across university programs, church ensembles, and professional groups. I’ve performed with big bands, jazz ensembles, and film/TV sessions, and I bring energy and clarity to both rehearsals and performances.
As an educator, I teach Jazz History and Advanced Improvisation, direct Jazz Studies programs, mentor woodwind and jazz voice students, and lead private lessons. I’m dedicated to community outreach, clinics, and expanding opportunities for aspiring musicians while maintaining a vibrant performance schedule.
