Lucia Londoño Davalos is a Bolivian designer, illustrator, and educator residing in the U.S.A. who enjoys crafting visual stories that invite people to notice, wonder, and engage with the world around them. Drawing on nearly a decade of experience, Lucia's practice spans corporate, freelance, nonprofit, and academic settings, allowing her to move comfortably between commercial production, research, and community engagement. Her journey has taken her from Bolivia to both coasts of the United States, with each place and collaboration shaping the way she approaches design. Lucia recently graduated with an MFA in Design & Visual Communications at the University of Florida, where her thesis, Are We What We Overlook? Participatory Visualization and Ecological Embodiment in Food Systems, grew from a collaboration with the University's Field & Fork Farm. Through workshops, a participatory toolkit, and a spatial experience, the project invited people to notice the ecological relationships woven into everyday food systems. Today, she continues collaborating with communities in Florida, exploring how visual communication can make complex systems feel more tangible, playful, inspire collective understanding, and care. Along the way, her work has been recognized through exhibitions, publications, and awards, including Icon 9, UNLEASH Hack Andes, and shared internationally at LearnXDesign 2025, with an upcoming presentation at SECAC 2026. She is also contributing a co-authored chapter to a forthcoming Routledge publication exploring co-design as an interdisciplinary practice bridging visual communication, participation, and human-centered design.
