My name is Daria Yang Du, and I am a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary designer with nearly five years of professional experience across architecture, interiors, spatial experience, exhibition, branding, and environmental design. With a strong foundation in spatial design and a cross-disciplinary approach, I work beyond traditional architectural boundaries to connect space, visual expression, and human experience. My master’s in Advanced Architectural Design from Cornell University, together with professional experience at RIOS, Bjarke Ingels Group, and Gensler, has shaped a design approach grounded in spatial narrative, contextual thinking, and user experience. At the center of my design philosophy is an interest in the relationship between people and their surrounding environments—how space can shape perception, evoke memory and emotion, and communicate stories. Cultural context, identity, and representation are integral to this process, particularly when translating a brand identity, cultural narrative, user journey, or site condition into a clear and immersive physical experience. Across projects including Spotify Hollywood, notNeutral, MUJI, and Changi Airport Fit & Fun Zone, I have explored these ideas at different scales—from branded environments and environmental graphics to product and digital touchpoints, modular spatial systems, and interactive public experiences. This perspective has allowed my work to move fluidly across architecture and interiors, entertainment and media, retail and brand experience, workplace, cultural, and institutional environments—approaching each project as an integrated experience rather than a singular object. Professional experience has spanned the full design process, from early research, programming, and concept development through spatial planning, material and finish development, FF&E, environmental graphics, visualization, documentation, QA/QC, RFI coordination, and implementation. Increasing design ownership has included driving design development, coordinating across architecture, interiors, graphics, landscape, and digital media, and communicating design intent with clients, consultants, vendors, and fabricators. This cross-disciplinary experience has built a strong understanding of how conceptual ideas evolve into coordinated, technically resolved, and buildable outcomes. A visual and technical toolkit including Rhino, Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, C4D/3ds Max, Enscape/D5 Render, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and emerging AI visualization workflows supports this process—from representation and prototyping to iterative design studies, technical coordination, and visual communication.
