I’m Mark Li, a Taiwanese composer, producer and arranger, and a member of Trot. I work across vocal and instrumental music, from pop productions to chamber and orchestral writing. My practice begins with the score. Using handwritten notation in StaffPad, I develop melody, harmony, counterpoint, voice leading and orchestration, then carry these ideas through MIDI mockups, programming, sound design and complete music production. In 2026, I contributed composition, arrangement, orchestration and production across Trot’s seven-track album, 光陰 l’instant, which brings together four vocal pieces and three instrumental works. My responsibilities vary by track, with full credits available in my portfolio. My production decisions respond to the needs of each work. For Momo, I developed the musical setting through composition, arrangement and production, with lyrics and vocal melody / topline by Yi-Lu Ke. We returned to her home to record the Yamaha U1 upright piano she had played since childhood, preserving the connection between the song, its original instrument and its emotional beginnings.
