Hello, my name is Maximo Gutierrez. I'm a current undergraduate student at San Diego State University, getting my major in Television, Film, and New Media Studies - Production. My current goal is to get an internship with an animation company. Ever since I was about a year old, and I watched The Lion King for the first time, animation has been my biggest passion in life. However, it wouldn’t be until I was fifteen that I would post my first animation online and firmly establish my goal to one day work in the animation industry. For over five years now, I’ve further developed my craft by posting animations to my YouTube channel, Maximized Animation, where I’ve been able to express my love for animated media through fan animations, contributions to internet events known as reanimated collabs, and test animations done in 2D and 3D software. I already took my first step towards my ultimate goal by participating in my first two animation internships two years ago: animating promotional holiday shorts for Nine Dots Media and contributing assets for a larger project at Ferry Godmother Productions. On top of all that, I learned a lot about live-action filmmaking from a motion picture production class I took at community college last year, where I directed and edited two live-action short films. As a current Television, Film, and New Media Studies major at San Diego State University, I hope to pick up more live-action filming techniques to possibly incorporate into animated projects I want to create, just so I can broaden my skills and open up more job opportunities in the future. But above all, I’d love to use the resources at my disposal to put together an animated short film that I can submit to film festivals and use to show companies I’m worth hiring.
