Behind Closed Doors is a visual exploration of the hidden, often unnoticed lives people lead in isolation. This project delves into the private spaces where individuals retreat from the pressures and chaos of the outside world. Using imagery of people engaging with instruments, smoking, or immersed in their phones, the work captures moments of escape, distraction, and introspection.
Each subject is portrayed in a confined interior space, symbolizing both physical and psychological withdrawal. The instruments represent attempts at expression or solace; smoking becomes a meditative ritual or a sign of internal tension; and the phone, a portal to a curated digital reality, highlights disconnection from the tangible world.
By presenting these scenes “behind closed doors,” the project asks viewers to reflect on their own coping mechanisms and the hidden emotional landscapes of those around them. It challenges the veneer of normalcy seen in public and social media, offering a rawer, more intimate look at how people navigate their inner worlds.
