Hi, I’m Joshua Brahm Canare, a passionate animation and technology student at The Ohio State University. I specialize in animation with a focus on bringing stories to life through creative visuals and smooth production pipelines. As a student director and producer, I’ve had the privilege to lead diverse teams and manage large animated projects, which has given me hands-on experience in animation production and leadership.
Beyond animation, I enjoy developing original stories and scripts, crafting compelling narratives for pitches, and working with talented creatives to deliver polished content. I’m also deeply involved in my university’s animation community, organizing workshops and connecting students with industry professionals. Managed an entirely student-led animated short film created by a team of more than 30 students during the spring semester. Provided advice and guidance towards various production departments to create greater visionary cohesion and smooth transitions between departments.
Created a studio-internal animated project supervised by the director of animation to simulate the production pipeline and client negotiation process. Worked as an on-set production assistant for a live action commercial shoot, taking part in lighting testing and reviewing shoots.
Reorganized the entire club infrastructure, online, and social media presence, increasing average attendance by 500% over three years. Organized, wrote, and led over 40 weekly workshops, presentations, and discussions relating to skills, the production pipeline, and media critique, including inviting professional guest speakers and club collaborations. Collaborated with the Arts and Sciences Center for Career Success to establish and organize the university’s first-ever art focused career fair and later collaborated to organize a career trip to Los Angeles, CA to visit film studios.
