Meet Tandra Jhagroo, accomplished (20 years) Mix and Mastering audio engineer,Director at an LLC centered around the advancement of women in music (GURLES), studio-owner (Zen Studio JA) , Training Program creator (Swift E Skills), top engineer for A-listed artists (Jay Z, Sting, Shaggy, Drake, Amy Winehouse). Starting at the University of Windsor, completing a B. Sc. in Physics, Tandra admits to influences of nearby Detroit’s and Toronto’s House Music scenes that saw her eventually furthering and developing a successful DJ career in Toronto including residency in the downtown core club district. After harvesting significant knowledge and experience as an audio engineer educator at the Toronto Film School, Tandra took her knowledge of mixing, mastering and analog recording to Jamaica music studios, industry leaders and private sector. “Everyday was a living history lesson in music.”A healthy work ethic and solid knowledge of systems and overall engineering prowess opened doors to studios Mixing Lab, Big Yard (Shaggy), Coppershot (Sean Paul), Anchor (VP Records), Geejam and private studios. Engineering sessions with music’s A-list performing acts such as Amy Winehouse, Drake, Jay Z, The Gorillaz, Major Lazer, Bob Sinclair, Wizkid, Shaggy and Sting. As a Manager at Red Bull and Red Bull Music Academy, she obtained her first set of experiences with Global network of media, arts, sports, lifestyle and marketing that was not related to any local artists or production houses.
