Daniel di Grado

Hi, I’m Daniel di Grado, a director and scriptwriter active in film, television and theatre in Sweden and the United States. I am drawn to projects with strong characters and I strive to tell their stories with meticulously composed imagery and clear storytelling. I am known as an actor’s director who works closely with talent, giving them space to explore and guidance to refine their performances.

Born in Stockholm, I started out as an assisting director in the 1990s and turned to directing in the early millennium. I am a hardcore movie fan who loves a wide spectrum of cinema—from mainstream to B-movies to art house—with a special fondness for the terrifying and the macabre. Beyond my work in film, television and theatre, I have directed music promos and commercials, and I enjoy collaborative work that lets colleagues explore and push themselves to the core of each project.
