I am a Birmingham based Editor / Assistant Editor with over 6 years experience in post-production.
I have honed my editing across various NLEs, having a qualification in Avid Media Composer, extensive knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and Adobe’s Premiere Pro. In particular, I have used both of these NLEs to work on short-form content as well as longer form work. In conjunction with these softwares, I have created and implemented 2D motion graphics created in After Effects into previous projects. Alongside this, I was the sole creative for shooting and producing content for TNT Extreme Wrestling in Liverpool between 2018 and 2020.
I have had the privilege to work on a big variety of projects, beginning my career on Hollyoaks and progressing to being a small part of the editorial team on Martin McDonaghs Oscar nominated feature film “The Banshees of Inisherin”, along with jobs in between on regional productions for CBBC’s “Phoenix Rise” (shot in Coventry) and internationally as an Assistant Editor on “The Conquerer: Hollywood Fallout”.
Specifically for social-first projectsI have worked with Ford Performance and RedBull TV on their YouTube series ‘Journey to Dakar’, delivering the full long-form episodes, with full audio mix and colour grading completely by myself. This included all social assets for Instagram, X and Facebook. I developed a Cloud based project system within DaVinci Resolve to allow multiple team members to view and contribute to the edit seamlessly between London and Birmingham. This is something I have also tested to great success within Adobe’s Productions for Premiere Pro.
Along with my technical knowledge of NLEs, I have also had experience with project tracking softwares such as Asana and Monday. I have found them extremely useful in a team setting to allocate tasks and track progress on a project. Specifically I have found it useful when sending completed edits to other departments for further work, such as sound, grade and VFX.
I excel in a fast-paced environment and always strive to learn new skills. My career started on Hollyoaks in Liverpool as new-graduate I was thrown into the media management team straight out of university and learned the skills required while on the job. With the turnaround time of soap operas, I learned to assist the whole team with delivering quality content within tight turnarounds with complete polish and QC. This experience has prepared me well for future projects and jobs where I have been able to learn from others while maintaining high standards of work. It also allowed me to work well under tight time constraints and pressure from Channel 4 and the line producers.
I have the confidence to approach all tasks and work with clear and concise communication, meaning I’m comfortable raising issues as I encounter them and am always willing / looking for solutions to best progress a project.
