Professional Wedding Videographer/Editor at Firefly Films

January 1, 2013 - Present

Started my own wedding videography business from the ground up, creating a website and utilizing various online wedding sites for promotion. I work with the couple to be wed to plan out the perfect wedding video so the memories of that special day will last a lifetime and beyond. On the wedding day, I capture stunning visuals using a variety of cameras and record perfect sound through the use of sophisticated digital recording equipment. After the wedding, I work tirelessly to edit beautiful video montages set to music and record the finished product to a variety of different media.

Responsible for teaching computer skills to kindergarten through 5th grade students as part of the NC Standard Course of Study. Responsible for training the staff in the use of various technologies including Web 2.0, document cameras, student response systems, Smart Boards, and Discovery Education. Developed and implemented a 6-week long summer professional development session for the teachers at my school. The focus of the training was on technology resources that are available to the teachers. The topics included: Communication and Collaboration using Web 2.0 Resources, Basic Smart Board Training, Advanced Smart Board Training, Digital Storytelling in the Elementary Classroom, and The 21st Century Teacher. I was also the schools’ technology contact and webmaster which put me in charge of all things technology in the school.

In Film Production, I teach the students the entire filmmaking process from planning, to filming, and ultimately editing. Students get hands-on experience with professional video editing equipment. Students also earn the Adobe Certified Professional certification in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and Adobe After Effects. I also assisted in designing the Film Program from the ground up for the Union County Public Schools district. I have designed multiple courses utilizing various Learning Management Systems. Adobe Visual Design is a graphic design course focused on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. In the course, students have an opportunity to get certified as Adobe Certified Professionals in Photoshop and Illustrator. Last year my students had a 96% passing rate on the exams.
