Zachary Yap Weng Kit

Hi, I’m Zachary Yap Weng Kit, a Singaporean filmmaker deeply passionate about storytelling through writing, directing, editing, and video art. My journey in film began in the art department of Crazy Rich Asians, and I’ve since worked in casting, assistant directing, and script supervision on various notable projects. I enjoy exploring themes of agency, longing, spirituality, and the absurdity of being alive, especially within a Southeast Asian context.

I’m currently developing my first full-length feature film, driven by instinct, chaos, and tenderness. I am committed to advocating for bold, diverse South East Asian voices in cinema and seek mentorship and community that inspire me to push creative boundaries and engage audiences in new ways.
