Hi, I’m Venus Chan Chi Yan, a British-based audio and broadcast producer with a passion for storytelling through sound. I cut my teeth in Hong Kong as an Audio Production Intern at Commercial Radio Productions Ltd. (FM 88.1). I was so passionate that I extended the unpaid internship from 2 months to 10 months so as to gain the most out of this valuable opportunity to learn from the professionals. During my internship, I produced and refined broadcast audio for 5 shows, mixed music and sound effects, trimmed content to air, and created dynamic one-minute promotional trailers for an audience of over one million weekly listeners. I also hosted and edited a one-minute personal current affairs segment on a prime-time breakfast show, developing a strong sense of narrative pacing and audience engagement. Back on campus, I launched VCRadio as an experimental project, and I’ve hosted and produced content for CUHK’s student-run U-Beat Magazine podcast, mastering interview techniques, editing, and on-air hosting. My curiosity has also driven a solo backpack journey across South America to learn from diverse cultures. I love shaping storytelling through voice acting, audio mixing, and thoughtful post-production, and I’m eager to grow as a versatile creator in audio, podcasting, and broadcasting.
