uniE608 Antique Wooden Boats on Parade on Lake Rabun I Hullinger's Musings
Lake Rabun’s 835 acres are rich with Georgia lore. It’s a place where beauty meets tradition, where generations have come to leave their mark. For more than a century, business and political leaders have escaped here, claiming a spot along its 25 miles of shoreline. Mostly hidden from the road, the lake reveals itself best from a boat, where you can soak in the mountain air and that timeless Rabun vibe. Chances are, that boat will be vintage, made of gleaming wood with stories of its own. And on July 4, the lake puts on one of Georgia’s must-see events: the Antique Wooden Boat Parade, hosted by the Lake Rabun Association. It’s a celebration from stem to stern, and we captured it all in our GPB “summer postcard” video. video videoeditor georgia history documentary
