I’m Yu‑Sheng Chiu, an Ottawa-based photographic artist born and raised in Chiayi City, Taiwan. My work is rooted in solitude, oral history, and the shifting ways femininity is defined—especially from the perspective of a Taiwanese woman living within both geopolitical and psychological contexts. Through photography, I explore how personal narratives connect to broader cultural realities, turning quiet memories and voices into images that feel intimate yet larger than the self. I’m also active in exhibitions and community-facing projects across Canada, and I continue to develop long-term bodies of work while sharing and expanding my practice through festivals, juried shows, and publications.…I’m Yu‑Sheng Chiu, an Ottawa-based photographic artist born and raised in Chiayi City, Taiwan.
