I’m Žanete Spirka, a Latvian composer who loves creating contemporary music—from fixed-media works and electronics to chamber and orchestral pieces. My path has included composition studies at Jāzeps Mediņš Latvian Academy of Music, and further development through Erasmus+ exchange at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with mentors such as Alexander Gretbschenko. Alongside composing, I’m passionate about teaching and sharing music knowledge. I’ve worked in education roles (from music history and theory to harmony) and participated in numerous masterclasses and international forums, which has helped shape my writing language and performance-focused thinking. I’m also actively building a portfolio of premieres across Latvia and Europe.…I’m Žanete Spirka, a Latvian composer who loves creating contemporary music—from fixed-media works and electronics to chamber and orchestral pieces.
