    paper La Fundación: Baseball's Island

In a nation where a baseball glove is seen as the only ticket out of poverty, youth baseball academies recruit children with promises of MLB millions—often at the cost of an education.
La Fundación: Baseball’s Island follows a revolutionary nonprofit fighting to change the DNA of youth baseball on the island. While one talented athlete battles a bureaucratic nightmare for a U.S. student visa and another becomes a ghost in the MLB academy system, the film asks: what happens to the 98% who don’t make the league? This is the story of reclaiming childhood from the business of the “Big Leagues.”

    paper Dialing Scottie

In 2014, Bulls legend and NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen changed his phone number. Shortly after, George - a then 14-year old middle school student with no ties to the Chicago Bulls or Scottie Pippen - unknowingly claimed Pippen’s old phone number. In the years following, George has had plenty of people reaching out to him looking for Pippen. “Dialing Scottie” looks at the humorous and unexpected consequences of having the old phone number of an NBA hall of famer.
