The arts have been a lifeline to me all of my life. I have dabbled in drawing, painting, videography, photography, set design, creating story boards, fashion design , etc. Though, with all this, literature and writing, alongside music, have stood out to be the most prominent offenders of my daily life. I have been writing since before I can remember, and listening to music even longer. Almost all of the major influences in my life have or were all involved in the arts, and were all music fanatics.
As long as aI have something to write on and something to write with (or something to type on as well), then I will take full advantage of the creative space presented. I began writing lines as a kid (stand-alone lyrics), which soon transformed to short stories. This route then bled into books–one of which is in the works of being published–and then I dove deeper and began to indulge in poetry. I am a firm believer that poetry is one of the most fundamental parts of lyrical composition.
Lyrics are a way for artists to tell stories, have fun, let go, dive deep, so on so forth. Quality lyrics allow for artists to engage their listeners and share intimacy between them and their audience. I love nothing more than writing lyrics, songs, of all kinds and with varying approaches. Being about to use words to connect so deeply is so beautiful and it’s a brilliant thing to contribute to. Lyrics are building blocks, songs are art.
