I am an experienced podcast and radio producer and presenter. I am a regular freelance producer for BBC Religion and Ethics as well as working with other organisations to produce (and often present) their podcasts. My latest project is called the "Own My Life Podcast" which the Guardian described as "powerful" in their best podcasts of the week column. I create podcasts from concept to recording, editing and publishing. Rachel Wilson from Jubilee Plus said, “Abi has the ability to quickly establish trust and build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds. Her work for us has always been to the highest standard, ensuring we return to her again and again.” I developed my skills initially in local radio (where I won a Jerusalem Award for my documentary about restorative justice) and then working for the BBC Religion and Ethics Department. I pride myself on being easy to work with and for creating high quality and thoughtful work, with strong attention to detail in my audio editing. I am skilled at finding contributors with strong stories to share, managing recordings and have strong interpersonal skills. I also regularly write and edit blogs for a charity and have a lot of fun running a youth group here in Bradford. I have recently discovered a love of watercolour painting and am a late comer to the Great British Sewing Bee!

paper Podcast Producer - Own My Life

From concept to post-production I created this podcast which the Guardian described as “powerful” in their best podcasts of the week column. The guests on this podcast have been through serious and traumatic experiences, which needed careful and thoughtful management. I visited them at their homes or support services to record with them and then co-hosted the final episodes with Natalie Collins. I edit using Hindenburg. We have had excellent reviews.

“The Own My Life podcast brings listeners into the real-life experiences of survivors of domestic abuse. Through thoughtful, well-crafted interviews, each episode offers a deeper understanding of their journeys and the strength it took to survive…It is a powerful listen for anyone wanting to learn more about domestic abuse and coercive control, as well as for professionals working in the field.” Clare Laxton

“Abi as a host is relaxed, non-judgemental and creates a space where guests can share deeply personal stories with honesty and hope.” Kirsty Dillon

    paper BBC Radio Producer

For the BBC I have recently produced programmes such as the Daily Service, Sunday Worship and Prayer for the Day. The recent Sunday Worship I produced was a large outside broadcast in Bradford which I produced from concept to broadcast and involved working with 5 different musical groups, including a large children’s choir as well as artists and contributors who have experienced significant personal trauma. I created a special week of Daily Services from West Yorkshire with five chaplains, including a recording at a children’s hospice. I enjoyed finding six contributors of different faiths for the Prayer for the Day anniversary programme from Bradford in July 2025. I edit to a very high standard using the BBC software Dira Startrack.
