My name is Alicia Casey, I am a current student at the Australian Film Television & Radio School, otherwise known as AFTRS, and I am applying for a position as a junior video editor at your company. I have been immersed in all things film from an early age, with my first memory of seeing a movie being sat on the carpet of my grandma’s living room watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with my two brothers. The realisation that I could make a career in film came when I saw The Merger being filmed at my local footy oval in my hometown of Wagga Wagga when I was twelve, and I haven’t looked back since. There is nothing better than getting the chance to merge your passion with your yearly income, and that's what I am striving to do in my life and career. I am a career-focused person. My organisation, attention to detail, and ability to work creatively with a team of people is what makes me a necessary asset to your company. I have a fresh and exciting perspective on life that transfers into my storytelling through video editing. I hold both the tenacity and skillset to assist in post-production, with years of hands-on experience in the editing room. I am proficient across all Adobe software, specifically in Premiere Pro and After Effects. Through my education at AFTRS I am constantly absorbing knowledge and developing unique approaches to enhance my craft, which will only further with my involvement at this company. I am optimistic about my future in the industry and would appreciate the opportunity to learn, grow, and excel with this team and company in the early years of my career.
