My name is Alissar Arkawi, and I have a master's degree in Media and Communication Science from Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed strong writing and editorial skills, along with a deep understanding of content creation for diverse platforms and effective digital storytelling. I learnt how to write and edit articles using different methods and formats. Moreover, I have improved my communication, organisational, and research skills. When I worked as a student assistant in the DFG project DECIPHER, I conducted a content analysis of news articles from different online media outlets. I coded more than 500 articles, all of them were written in the English language, which helped me to develop my skills in qualitative research, English language, data coding, attention to detail, and critical analysis. In my role as a match reporter for Real Time Sportscast, I worked to deliver live sports data directly from stadiums. This position strengthened my ability to work under pressure, enhanced my attention to detail, and improved my data reporting skills. I was the admin of L'Express Dance Community's Instagram page, where I created visual content; I filmed and edited videos, and designed posters. Moreover, I replied to comments and messages. Being the admin of an Instagram helped me to enhance my visual content creation skills since I used Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Photoshop. In addition to my academic and professional experience, I have done a lot of volunteer work. As a Performing Arts workshop facilitator during the International Student Week in Ilmenau (ISWI), I guided a group of participants from all over the world in a creative workshop. During the workshop, I made sure that all participants expressed themselves freely. I also volunteered as an actress for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), supporting the Equity 2030 Alliance project that promotes gender equity. Furthermore, I volunteered for TED, where I created subtitles for TED Talks videos to enhance global accessibility to educational content. These experiences helped me to improve my management, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
