Chengyu Deng is a Chinese music producer, live, mixing & recording engineer, sound designer, DJ, and synth enthusiast with a focus on multichannel electronic music projects. With a vast interest in electronic music since childhood, Chengyu started his career by exploring the knowledge of be a DJ. Through this, he established the technical understanding needed for his foray into the music production world. He also taught himself Ableton through the official manual to build on skills such as editing, mixing, synthesis, and audio processing. With his continuous pursuit in the field of music technology, he adapted this skillset to live sound and sound design across from live event, drama and short films. In 2019, he aimed for a higher education in music technology, which led to his studies in the US. While applying for universities, he also did several audio for video projects in the format of short films – his responsibilities included field recording, ADR recording, video and audio editing, and scoring. Following the completion of his bachelor and master's degree in Music Technology at NYU, he systematically learned audio-related fields across a wide range of settings, from studios to live events. Driven by his passion, he continues the pursuit of master's degree, shifting his focus to Max/MSP, multichannel studies on creative synthesis, electronic music production, and installations.
