Parking has been an issue in the contemporary cities. As the number of vehicles increases
rapidly, drivers take much time to seek a free parking place. This does not only result in waste
of fuel, but also boosts traffic and air pollution. Conventional parking systems tend to be
manual, inorganized and incapable of directing the drivers. This leaves individuals under
pressure, wastage of time, and unnecessary expenses.
To address this issue, our top project will focus on developing a Smart Parking System based
on the concepts of IoT in a simulated setting. To avoid the use of physical sensors, we will
create a software-based simulation which simulates the action of real ultrasonic sensors to
determine the occupancy or empty condition of a parking slot. This information will be
presented on a real time web dashboard to ensure it is easily viewed by the administrators
and the users on which slots are available in the system. This will streamline the process of
parking control.
Besides the primary functions, our project will also contain the new features that will make
the system more efficient. The users can reserve a parking slot beforehand, which will save
time and minimise uncertainty. To make sure that people use the slots responsibly, there will
be a cancellation charge in case one reserves a slot and fails to attend the slot. Another useful
detail is the possibility to report when another person is using your free slot, and this aspect
makes the system more equitable and safe to everyone.
The overall goal of the project is to develop a system which can be used to prove how smart
technology can enhance normal life. The Smart Parking System will be a solution that is sustainable and scalable in the contemporary cities by cutting down on waiting time,
managing the slots and ensuring that the amount of fuel consumed is minimized. Another
important experience that we will have after doing this project is the simulating of IoT, web
development, and database management.…Parking has been an issue in the contemporary cities. As the number of vehicles increases
