Billy Waldman (b. 2006) is a composer and pianist based in Los Angeles. After attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, he is currently studying composition at the University of Southern California. He began playing piano at the age of 8 and has since received awards at the regional and international levels including performances at Carnegie Hall and across Los Angeles. Through numerous film scores, piano, chamber, orchestral, and electronic music, Billy’s work draws from diverse influences within the classical, jazz and electronic traditions. He has attended the Eastman Summer Experience for composition, the Berklee Music Production Workshop, the Boston Conservatory High School Composition Intensive, Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard, Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artists Composition Program, and was a fellow in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Composer Fellowship Program. I also teach and mentor young composers, drawing from a broad background of private study with noted teachers and a strong track record in composition and chamber music.
