Industry Experience

    paper Box Canyon Barbies

In February 2026, I recently had the honor of recording and producing a record for a charming local band called the Box Canyon Barbies. The ‘Barbies’ have an incredible chemistry between them, they are an All- American rock and roll band but with an exotic Brazilian sweetness (Kayo) and they have upright bass too! The music touches on many influences from Creedence to Manu Chao, Lou Reed to Neil Young and all orchestrated with the same spritely BCB exuberance and cleverness. This was their first album, and I am fortunate to have been part of its creation. https://www.twine.net/signin

    paper Alto Street

Initially, Steve McCormick hired me to play at his wedding with my band The Salt Licks.
I found out later that he was a musician and songwriter himself. He approached me in the winter of 2022 to produce his new record, self-titled, ‘Alto Street’. All the songs on the project stood on their own. It was difficult to pick only 10. All of Steve McCormick’s material was superbly written, especially his enigmatic lyrics. Musically, he is reminiscent of Tom Petty, Neil Young, and The Rolling Stones. My approach to raising the bar for this production was layered harmonies, baritone guitar parts, mandolin, and electric guitar. These elements, combined with a strong foundation of bass and drums, create a timeless vibe.
‘Alto Street’ received great reviews, and to my delight, I was awarded Norman Petty’s Producer’s Award at the New Mexico Music Awards in 2022 for my work on this record.
