Student Researcher at DAACI

In this opportunity to work with such a great, upcoming company I participated in a large Innovate UK grant with research towards ethical AI tools in music. During this time I was analysing and using new AI music technology and integrating this into my daily work space by creating short compositions to analyse the technologies uses. I was part of a team reviewing ethics in AI and participating in wider industry conversations towards the new technology available as well as government legislation. My role was furthered in January in which I began assisting a research programme with further administrative responsibilities and later speaking at stakeholder meetings and displaying my compositions for many key industry professionals from Abbey Road and Spitfire Audio amongst others.

In my role as a session musician, I have collaborated with many artists and bands to create engaging live performances and brought versatility to the studio. My main skills are as a guitar player and arranger but I can also provide performances on other stringed instruments (bass, folk instruments) as well as being a competent backing vocalist. As a musical director, I am proficient in arranging the creative, technology and administrative elements of being in live or recorded music projects. This has included creating connections between compatible musicians, preparing and running backing tracks and crafting sonic identities with artists. I can do this with my experience working with string and brass sections as well as electronic music elements. My highlights have been playing multiple sold out shows with 10 piece retro soul outfit 'The Soul Steppers' at Pizza Express Live (Soho), performing and composing music at Brighton Dome as part of TNC25 and many session gigs for amazing artist such as Ronnie Cutmore and Ava Mckechnie.
