I’m a Calgary-based illustrator originally from Japan, where my creative roots began. I moved to Canada in 2002 and graduated with a degree in Communication Design, majoring in Illustration, in 2008. Since then, I’ve been working as a freelance illustrator. My illustration style is cute, whimsical, and colourful. Work Experience

Commercial Illustrator at Chika Ando Illustration

I create illustrations and turn them into merchandise such as vinyl stickers, greeting cards and magnets, which I sell at art and craft markets as well as through independent retail stores across Canada and online shops. Alongside my own product line, I’ve also worked on a range of commission projects, including pattern designs for clothing, portraits, magazine covers, editorial illustrations, and branding images. These projects have allowed me to explore different visual voices for each client and bring unique ideas to life while keeping my signature cute and colourful touch. I've also worked for print/sign shops as a graphic artist. The experience has taught me technical skills in production and adapting artwork for different surfaces and scales.
