StreamScale | Distributed Video Streaming System
Designed and developed a Netflix-inspired video streaming system using the MERN ecosystem and distributed systems technologies, focusing on scalable architecture, asynchronous processing, and production-style infrastructure.
Key Contributions:
- Designed a modular architecture incorporating API Gateway, authentication, catalog, analytics, and recommendation services.
- Integrated Apache Kafka for event-driven communication and asynchronous processing.
- Used Redis for caching and performance optimization.
- Implemented video processing workflows using FFmpeg and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS).
- Containerized services using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Integrated Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observability.
- Documented architectural decisions and validated functionality through automated tests.
