NexusFlow | Distributed Job Orchestration Engine
Problem: Applications often need to execute long-running tasks reliably without blocking API requests. Tasks can fail, workers can crash, and duplicate execution can create inconsistent results.
Proposed Solution: Build a distributed job orchestration system that accepts tasks, schedules execution, distributes work to background workers, and provides reliable execution tracking.
Core Features:
- Job submission API with priorities, scheduling, and execution metadata.
- Worker registration, task claiming, heartbeats, and concurrency limits.
- Retry policies, exponential backoff, timeouts, and dead-letter handling.
- Idempotency keys to reduce duplicate side effects.
- Job dependencies and multi-step workflow execution.
- Live job status updates and execution logs.
- Worker health monitoring and failure recovery.
- Docker-based local cluster with automated integration tests.
