I'm a graphic designer specialising in branding, helping to showcase the key values of a company through creative and meaningful logo design. I studied Graphic Design at Northumbria University, with a focus on branding. This centred on building new brands around a narrative to create complete visual identities. I have been working as a freelance designer since graduating, with a focus on branding, packaging and editorial design. When working on a new project I undertake research to gain insight into the market, range of products or services, and the company which in turn helps influence my design process. I like to use a key idea based on the values or mission of the brand to build a visual identity. This process ensures the design outcome feels rooted in meaning and allows it to become the building block for every design asset I create. I enjoy creating designs that have a fresh, minimal, and contemporary feel.

    uniE621 In A Nutshell branding & packaging
Branding and packaging for the fictional company ‘In a Nut Shell’, a lip care brand made from recycled nuts. The logo centres around the idea of ‘reusing’ the nutshell shape, adding texture to present a natural and hand crafted feeling logo while letterforms slot together as though they are being repurposed. The logo can be used in the five brand colours, each with a unique texture. The packaging uses recycled cardboard tubes - each using a key brand colour to distinguish the products, and ‘recycled’ nut shell shapes to form an interesting background texture and pattern. Hand written information is also used to give a hand crafted and small business feel to the packaging.

The sub logo flower brings in a feeling of growth and the importance of natural ingredients which are used in each product. Using transparent elements to show the transparency of the brand while it can also be used as a solid shape.
