Montreal lifer, studio obsessive, and creative operator Daniel Moscovitch has spent years shaping sound from the inside out—less a participant in the industry than a quiet architect behind the records that leave a mark. One of his proudest chapters is his work with rapper Budman, mentoring the artist and mixing his full body of music with the kind of care that turns raw talent into a fully realized voice. That same deep-control-room instinct runs through his own bands: as a driving force behind Cape Cartel, Moscovitch engineered, produced, and mixed both records while playing all drums, leaving his fingerprints on every level of the sound. As the force behind First You Get The Sugar (FYGTS), he brings a producer’s precision to a bandleader’s vision—maximalist in detail, emotionally exact, and always chasing the sweet spot between grit and gloss. His credits also stretch into comedy, engineering albums for renowned Canadian comedians Derek Seguin and Darrin Rose. Equally fluent in music production and visual storytelling, Moscovitch operates in the rare lane where sound, rhythm, and image all answer to the same instinct: make it hit harder, make it feel human, and make it last.
