Jack Colton - Gertrude - Mix & Master

This project began with a client who brought in a strong song idea built around a simple, stripped-back arrangement of guitars, vocals, and a foundational rhythm of stomps and claps.

From there, I developed the track into a full production, adding bass guitar, live drums, and organ to enhance the depth, energy, and overall musicality. A key focus throughout the process was preserving the soul and intimacy of the original idea while expanding it into a more complete and dynamic listening experience.

By approaching the project from a production-first mindset, I was able to shape the mix as the arrangement evolved. This allowed for a more cohesive final result, as each added element was introduced with intention and balance already in mind.

The end result is a fully realized track that maintains the emotional core of the original demo while delivering the impact and polish expected from a professional production.
