Hey, Hey! It's Demetrius. I like making films and taking photos, and I’ve been doing it for over ten years. I once deleted all the family photos from a month-long trip to Europe, and I’ve been trying to make up for it ever since. The bright side is that I have a firm understanding of what “format card ” means. My creative journey really began in Middle School, where I always preferred making a movie over writing a paper. I made claymations or explainer videos on what PEMDAS means to get out of putting pen to paper. From there, I had an incredibly influential film teacher in High School who taught me the ins and outs of filmmaking and encouraged the habit. He would host screenings with folks like Jennifer Lawrence (Don’t Look Up, Hunger Games, No Hard Feelings) and John G. Avildsen ( Rocky (1976) The Karate Kid (1984), and somehow got us a private tours of Pixar Studio. I never stood a chance… Looking for a change of weather and to see what all the hype was about, I went to Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, where I majored in Film and Media Culture. In my junior year, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Prague with the NYU Tisch 35MM directing course, where I wrote and directed a short film on 35mm about two old men trying to steal beer from a beer garden. After graduating from Middlebury College, I worked as a Digital Media Producer in their Communications and Marketing Department, where I wrote, produced, directed, and edited a range of projects, from a short documentary about the history of Middlebury’s Carillon to nostalgic videos about winters at Middlebury. Eventually, I left Middlebury College and joined 273 Productions, a full-service creative agency in Burlington, Vermont. Our goal was to help Vermont small businesses mimic their in-person experience online. We worked with companies like WhistlePig Whiskey, Addison West, Silver Maple Construction, Otter Creek Bakery, and Target Looking for my next adventure, after being in Vermont for 10 years, I returned to the Bay Area, where I worked and traveled to spots like Peru, Brazil, The Northern Marianas Islands, Korea, and Japan.
