Destry Spigner

Hi, I’m Destry Spigner, also known as Soulman. I began my career as a professional studio session vocalist and pianist in 1986, building a name in the underground house scene. My track ‘Swing Your Body’ on Playground Records became a cult classic, produced and released by Hudson Baudray of Hotmix 5.

I also produced, arranged and sang ‘A Matter of Time’ for Desire Records in London, and was signed to an album deal by Chris Perry of The Cure, helping me become a household name in England. Over the years I have worked with many record companies as a studio vocalist in London, including Acid Jazz, Azuli, Cool Tempo, Heat, Inferno, Pure Silk Records and other production outfits. Four decades of performing, writing, arranging, and singing in house music. Now in my senior years I devote my time to classic vintage soul with Soulman and Legends of Soul.
