Hi, I’m Mark Smulian—a multi-instrumentalist, composer, music producer, lecturer, facilitator and entrepreneur with over 40 years in the music industry. I’ve spent three decades immersed in music technology and production, building MindHarp to connect sound, science and wellbeing, helping people living with dementia, autism and sensory challenges, while also supporting peace-building, social cohesion and education.
Today I lead MindHarp UK, run workshops, master classes and research, and continue creating music that bridges cultures and communities.
This is a short alternative soundscape piece composed entirely from basses. Composed for film, the challenge was to create a unique palette of sounds to work with the visuals. Sometimes when we give ourselves creative challenges that may at first appear limiting, we discover original, fascinating and beautiful alternative outcomes.
