I’m Dominic Henry Matthews, a composer, conductor and guitarist based in London with a passion for cross-disciplinary collaboration and community engagement. I lead and perform across multi-genre projects, from large-scale ensembles to intimate new works, and I’m currently directing The Epic of Ohm while developing Tiresias 2.0 and related initiatives. I’m dedicated to working with diverse musicians worldwide, bridging ancient and modern instruments, and creating accessible, open-notated pieces that invite broad participation. In parallel I tutor, conduct community ensembles, and mentor emerging composers, always seeking ways to expand the reach and impact of contemporary music.

    paper The Festival

The Festival is a synth-opera that explores stardom, exploitation and the destructive nature of social media. In the near future, a festival has been organised where the highest rated popstar of all time will be sacrificed to fuel the chaotic rage energy that fuels the internet. The position of “ultimate star” is highly coveted, and throughout their set they are systematically driven insane by members in the audience throwing abuse that over time leads to their implosion.

Think Charli XCX meets the purge - The Festival makes us think twice before we ragebait.

    paper Tiresias 2.0

Tiresias 2.0 is a sci-fi audiotorio set in a barren far future Earth after climate change has ravaged the world. The last being on Earth is a cyborg Tiresias, confined to repeat a do not resuscitate message for millennia and warning any future civilisations to stay away.

However, the next cycle of life is starting to return, awakening the human part of Tiresias from within the machine. Tiresias uses their power of prophesy to understand what the future of the plant is. Drawing up the harrowing images of humanities destructive past, Tiresias is left with a decision: Should the plant be left to reseed the world, potentially triggering another destructive cycle? Or should life be allowed to return to Earth?

    paper Resonances

Resonances explores what the catalyst was that sparked our connection with music hundreds of thousands of years ago. It’s a concept album as well as a film made of different styles of animation. The story is about a Homo Erectus hunter that is lured into an inter-dimensional well, where they must partake in a series of trails dictated by mysterious beings. It explores the concepts of quantum physics, string theory and the music goes through stages of complexity to emphasise the journey through dimensions. Part one is out now, with the idea that this will eventually become an epic feature length film.
