uniE621 Promotional Campaign for Small Business Saturday-Gift Guide
Since 2018, I have designed the chamber's annual printed gift guide. For 2024, I was responsible for both the guide and all promotional items tied to their Small Business Saturday campaign, including a 60 x 36-inch banner, a door hanger, a 1200 x 1200 px social media post used on Facebook, Instagram and in promotional emails, a 16-page printed and digital gift guide, and directional banners hung near the event location. My past gift guide cover designs played off the chamber logo by placing the capital “N” inside a circular element, like a wreath. The chamber was receptive to working with the same design concept for the guide cover, but having a cohesive design across all promotional items. I used snowflakes as the circular element on the guide cover and as a patterned background for the event promotional items. To represent the “shop local” theme of Small Business Saturday, I modified a licensed graphic of storefronts to reflect the businesses in the area. I used the storefront graphics consistently at the bottom of each piece. Key information was highlighted in solid-colored circles that bleed off the edge of the page, and teal and blue formed the main color palette throughout. graphicdesigner designer

uniE621 Promotional Flyer for a Fitness and Wellness Center
I was asked to create a flyer promoting an Open House week at a fitness and wellness center in celebration of its 34th anniversary. The concept was to be fun and inviting. The client provided me with several photos. I selected one in which the photographer caught the instructors jumping mid-air, as I felt that conveyed a sense of excitement. I used Photoshop to remove distractions, such as the water bottle and towels hanging on the back wall, the clock, and a mirror with a distracting reflection. I used Illustrator to create lines that represent movement and colorful stars in the client’s brand colors, evoking a sense of fun. I brought the edited photo and illustrations into InDesign to complete the layout and design. The client also requested a coupon that would be handed out during the open house week, offering a discount on the enrollment fee. As a long-time client, Galter Life Center typically doesn’t provide me with detailed instructions. However, I do refer to the brand and style guide when working on projects for Galter. graphicdesigner designer photoediting printdesigner
paper Impact Report: Next Step Kansas City

I was hired to create a report that Next Step Kansas City could share with current donors, prospective donors and sponsors. I needed to work with the photos provided by the client. In one instance, the door to a storage room was open in the background and was distracting. I used Photoshop to edit and clean up the photo. #graphicdesigner #photoediting

paper Promotional poster for a series of events.
Contracted as a freelance graphicdesigner to create a promotional poster for a series of events. The project included a poster, socialmedia posts, and a large-format print banner. The location included a large mural on the side of a building. I used the mural as the poster background and as inspiration for a retro design. I pulled my color palette from the paint colors in the mural. I used a different color and a distinctive title/display typeface for each event.
paper Promotional poster for a fundraiser.
Contracted as a freelance graphicdesigner to create a promotional poster for a fundraiser. The client wanted to use an elf as the main design element. Initially, my elf vectorillustration was a take-off on the movie Elf. At the client's request, I modified the illustration to be a take-off on Elf on the Shelf. Finally, I modified the illustration when the client settled on an ugly sweater theme. The beer bottle is a stock illustration that I modifed.
