I am an entrepreneur and leader with a strong emphasis in education, multimedia design, video production, and training. I am capable, self-confident, politically astute, a positive and creative thinker, and an inspired mentor. My production and training expertise spans global networks. I excel at building and leading design teams, collaborating with thought leaders, and managing outside vendors to deliver impactful programs across organizations and audiences. As the Principal Training Designer for the Quality group at Genentech I was specifically brought on to develop a culture that utilizes video for the many training and communication initiatives in a global environment. My focus was on setting up comms plans for larger initiatives and the building deliverables for those plans. I produced 2-3 videos a week in long and short form and 100s of videos a year as well as webinars, print and F2F solutions. Before that I was the Senior Training Program Manager for Product Development Clinical Science at Genentech/Roche, I was responsible for the training and compliance of our 400 person group and I worked to not only deliver mandatory training but to also develop and deliver the learning necessary for our staff to do their jobs better. I was extremely sensitive to my audiences and worked toward a more individualized instruction model in my tenure there. I conceived and executed ‘Find the right colleague, get the right answer’ a video resource to capitalize on our internal expertise and connect people for the purpose of sharing knowledge and facilitating learning. My experience with video production was honed over many years as the executive director/producer of two production companies; I have conceived and completed literally hundreds of projects. My main clients were in the pharmaceutical and banking area, and a few of my very large clients included Merck, Pfizer and CitiBank. I have extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and have produced projects for sales training, patient education, physician education and product launches. I enjoyed many years of repetitive business from these and many other Fortune 100 firms and I am completely familiar with this culture. I have staged events at Radio City Music Hall with live video, and satellite elements, and even had the pleasure of working with a few Rockettes. I have videotaped diverse personalities ranging from Dennis Miller to Henry Kissinger and I bring a very directed intelligence to each unique production. Running my own company has also given me plenty of experience managing a staff (both production and administrative), dealing with budgets in the millions and operating a small production studio that included an audio record booth, single camera insert stage and digital graphic and post-production facility. I taught video production and editing, graphic and web design and computer graphics in adult, graduate, undergraduate and high school level arenas for many years.
