    paper Winter Solstice 2024

    During the Winter Solstice from 1st December - 21st of December each year, I have had the pleasure of working with Masary Studios in Boston to create immersive 3D visual content and animation as part of the Solstice event held at Mt. Auburn Cemetary in Cambridge, MA. The event involves multiple site specific light-based media pieces, each with elements of interaction and immersion. The event culminates in an epic series of 3D projection mapped animations onto the facade of the famous Bigelow Chapel. Working with Masary and their creative director and co-founder, I create the animations based off of the actual model of the chapel, using a range of software such as Cinema 4D, Houdini, Photoshop and After Effects. It all comes together in a stylish and abstract narrative thread, woven together by an orchestral score. The grand scale of the chapel coupled with the vibrant projection and deeply moving score creates a truly magical and immersive moment to finish the event.
