    uniE608 Remote Recording Lag Editing
A fairly common issue, especially with podcasts recorded remotely, is digital slurring or lag during speech due to internet connection difficulties. In many instances this can ruin an interview, or otherwise make it an unpleasant listening experience. By carefully blending syllables, or in some cases, building words using syllables of other utterances, we can clean up otherwise distracting dialogue and produce a better product.
    uniE608 Tape Warp Restoration
Here is an example of analog-to-digital restoration techniques. The original recording came from 4-track Reel-to-Reel tape, with vocals recorded by mic stereo left and guitar recorded on mic stereo right. Warping occurred on the guitar track, but thankfully the vocal mic picked up a good amount of the guitar. Through diminishing/removing the vocals digitally and remixing as a number of tracks, we were able to bring a great deal of clarity to the guitar track and create a more pleasant listening experience.
    uniE608 Music Track Remixing
This 1964 demo recording was captured by a single area mic for the full band. Rebalancing the frequencies within a track to help separate the instruments can bring out a buried bass, brighten up cymbals and snares, or boost a vocalist sandwiched between keys and guitars.
    uniE608 Analog-to-Digital Restoration
This example comes from language learner cassettes, provided by an educator putting together materials to teach the endangered North American language of Odawa. Originally recorded in the early 1980's, the cassette tapes suffered physical degradation, creating noise interference. We used a variety of filters and frequency targeting to remove that noise interference , while maintaining the integrity of the speaker's voice and background music.
    uniE608 Background Noise Removal
Background noise is common in remote and home recordings, but it doesn't have to show up in your final product. By precisely targeting specific frequencies, we can remove distracting background noises without affecting the rest of the track. This sample comes from lecture work done with Johns Hopkins University's Center for Teaching and Learning.
