My name is Elias Danger Hoffman, (yes that’s the name my parents gave me) I’m born in Chicago IL, raised in Buffalo NY, and now residing in Toronto ON. I’m a queer, artist, skateboarder, filmmaker, and an endless tinker-er. I’m a lover of philosophy, sociology and all things progressive action related. So yeah that’s a little bit about my social bindings. On to film experience! Film/Art Experience: From a young age I was always attracted to different artistic mediums. First it was entering drawing competitions in preschool. A photography business in middle school. Then as I made my way into my teenage years it became filmmaking. After moving from city to city, art gave me something tangible. A world of my own, one that I could control and create within. In 2024 I graduated from the Claude Watson School for the Arts, winning the end of year “Top Film Student” award. In 2023/2024 4 different films I wrote or directed won a total of 8 awards, spanning local and global festivals. Since then I have gone on to work on numerous projects, mostly doing sound mixing and boom operation. In addition to working in the realm of sound, I also have experience within the grip and camera departments. This multidisciplinary experience allows me to collaborate with other crews seamlessly and approach sound recording with an in depth understanding of physical space.
