I am a creative freelancer, specialising in designing and managing events. For the 2025 British Film Institute (BFI) Festival, I worked as both a Site Manager for DDA Global Live and the Sound and Lighting Technician for Huge Star Productions. As a site manager this involved: ● Managing the talent through the red carpet to the required locations ● Ensuring all details on the carpet were as per the plans and the clients requests ● Lining up the barriers for the press and public ● Ensuring the carpet and talent areas were set correctly to a high standard ● Liaising with the venue ● Reading and understanding ground plans, CAD drawings and documentation. For my role as the Sound and Lighting technician for Huge Star Productions: ● Setting up all the panel lights for the photographers along the carpets and photo walls. ● Setting up the sound equipment and cabling on the carpet and talent areas. ● Operating and monitoring the sound during the red carpet and talent areas. ● Setting up the sound, DJ set, uplighters and photo wall lighting for the opening gala of the BFI Festival. I recently designed a ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ themed party, for this I had a £200 budget and a brief of an elegant 3 course meal for 12 guests and a NYE photo wall area. I started by creating a moodboard presentation with various design routes, and then I created a spreadsheet with everything I would source for this event and the prices. Once agreed, I ordered and curated all the elements, and made faux flower arrangements to be placed around the room and on the table. I set up the event and managed it during, to ensure it went smoothly. I have 7 years experience in professional West-End and touring theatre, as a technician which has given me skills: ● Communication ● Budgeting and documentation ● Technical knowledge of what is needed to put on a large scale event and theatre productions. ● Get-ins and get-outs ● Sourcing props, equipment, and scenery. ● Setting up technical equipment for lighting and sound ● Time management ● Scenic painting and dressing ● Extensive experience touring into UK and international venues ● Working under pressure and with various departments and roles. I have a 1st Class Honours degree in Theatre Design and from this I am able to: ● Take a concept, through the design, visuals, and reality stage. ● Auto-CAD ● Photoshop ● Work to a budget ● Communicate with vendors, departments and clients
