Hi there, My name is Zhen, aka Flash. I'm a recent film school graduate with a strong interest in narrative directing and editing. I have created several works showcased below and hope you will be interested in collaborating. Directing (or Content Creating): I’m skilled at visualizing scripted content from scratch. For instance, I created a scripted commercial for the San Francisco Fire Department. My contributions included pitching the idea, writing the script, storyboarding, casting the actors, directing, and editing on the fly. Editing: I excel at reshaping stories by manipulating the timeline and soundtracks in various ways. With an unlimited curiosity for editing, I am always seeking opportunities to experiment with new concepts and implement new skills that facilitate storytelling.

    paper Editor's Reel

    Hello there,

You are welcome to check my editor’s reel and have a nice conversation with me if you are into my craft.

    Thanks!

uniE608 Youtube adventural video editing _ TFIL
This is a YouTube video I edited for TFIL, a major YouTuber in the US. In this project, my first success was establishing unique tones for each adventurer, helping to differentiate their individual characteristics. From these tones, I selected fitting music beds and crafted the cutting rhythm to drive their stories forward. I had a great time editing this project and feel honored to have made friends with all the adventurers.
    uniE608 Interview Editing _TickTock Reels
This is a roughly 90-sec Tick Tock reel I edited for Free Agency. In this video, you could find how I stylize this interview in 90 seconds and build up a tense between the founder and the two interviewers in order to entertain audience. videoeditor
    paper The Mirror (CGI)

    Credits: Director, Editor, Motion Designer

Elegance is the essence of this short. Unlike other commercials, I designed a tranquil world with a low-saturated color tone and minimized cuts to maintain consistency.

    paper It's A Wrap

    Credits: Director, Editor, Cowriter

It’s never been a wrap since there’re so many details can be improved. However, this short film demonstrates my creativity and openness to actors’ improvisations, which led to many nerve-wracking moments in the editing room. Nevertheless, I believe it all paid off.

paper Don't Be A Bystander (SFFD)

This is a scripted commercial I made for San Francisco Fire Department. The whole idea revolves around the concept of “REWIND”. If you could rewind time, what would you do?

    Credits: Director, Editor, Scriptwriter
