Does what it says on the tin really, this is my current showreel of animation work.
This began life as a response to yet another ghosting after apparently making it through the first stage of selection. I really don’t know how this culture became normalized, but I am noticing it more and more. It really doesn’t take much to send a one sentence email explaining that you are going with someone else or the project itself has been cancelled.
Anyway, I created this as a time trial excercise, since the question asked of me was how long it would take to create something like this. I decided to create the video from scratch with the estimate that it would take 2 days in the style of the reference. This video itself actually took 4, but it is also a significant upgrade, if I do say so myself, on the reference video provided. I remain adamant that the simpler 2D version was no more than 2 days work.
I impulsively volunteered myself to animated this flyer for a friend’s festival, and a couple of weeks later showed him this and made lots of funny sounds that warmed my soul.
There are a couple of tiny bits of frame by frame but otherwise this is all After Effects and Limber rigs. I’m quite proud of this as expressive cartoony stuff was such a huge influence on me as a kid and I can’t imagine even getting into visual storytelling without it. It’s was a genuine pleasure to create in this style that so much of my other client work often avoids.

Integrated live action and animation using fast-turnaround techniques to produce two low-budget videos with a unique, original aesthetic that maximised on-screen production values
• Repurposed leftover props and equipment from previous shoots to create “Machine” video, combining high-energy, playful editing to produce an exciting lo-fi experience.
• Developed innovative techniques using Pixel Encoder plugin to transform D.U.N.E’s performances into a visually striking psychedelic journey through particle experiments.

Progressed from contract editor to QC lead for large-scale project, overseeing nearly 800 videos in 30 languages for consistent quality across all deliverables.
Lead production and animation of German language translation for “Blade and Bounce,” delivering high-quality first drafts that maintained integrity of original English version whilst adhering to strict deadlines for pre-tournament delivery.
• Took on role of producer for the localisation of 9-episode series, in addition to editing and animation duties, successfully managing entire production process from sourcing translators and voice artists to co-ordinating studio recordings and quality assurance.
• Edited new voiceover and corrected mouth animations across all episodes, ensuring seamless integration and timely project completion ahead of the tournament launch.
• Earned additional responsibilities editing tournament highlight videos, recognised for exceptional attention to detail and structured, methodical approach.
Commissioned through an online bidding site to create the music video to Sonic boom Six’s new single. I was very lucky to have impressed them enough with my personal story and a previous video I had made for the campaign group Make Votes Matter that they gave me complete creative control and were very happy with the result. I am myself, quite proud of this one, being turned around in about one week.
