Senior motion designer and design technologist with 12+ years building motion systems, design languages, and front-end-coded prototypes for Microsoft, Mozilla, Amazon, and Sands Las Vegas. Work has reached production in edge://surf, across 12 live casino titles at Sands, and to Alexa users in 11+ countries. Formal training in animation and audio engineering shapes how I treat motion as a tool for clarity, hierarchy, and emotional resonance rather than decoration. Daily AI workflow (Copilot, Claude, Midjourney, ChatGPT, DALL-E); hands-on in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS alongside traditional motion. I build motion systems and interactive prototypes end-to-end—from motion specs and pipelines to production-ready implementations.

Work Experience

Senior UX Motion Designer (CAIDR / CoreAI) at Microsoft CoreAI (CAIDR)
April 1, 2026 - Present
Designed, prototyped, and coded motion and interactions for the CoreAI (CAIRD) team across Foundry, VS Code, and emerging AI product surfaces. Produced multiple high-fidelity concepts per sprint to help the team evaluate feature ideas before engineering commits. Built Foundry’s reactive waveform visualizer button in production-ready web tech by translating live audio amplitude/frequency data into a fluid, on-brand motion signature. Led animation and integration of the Familiar companion system by creating sprite sheets, idle loops, reactive states, motion specs, and an end-to-end sprite-sheet pipeline to minimize integration overhead. Prototyped in-IDE VS Code prompt Easter egg with two playable variants (vector shooter and Radial Tetris) plus extensive motion background explorations and concept art.
Senior UX Motion Designer (Gaming) at Sands Las Vegas
February 1, 2022 - December 1, 2025
Founding team delivering 12 live-dealer table games and game shows across mobile and web over 4 years at Sands Design Services. Built and maintained a studio-wide motion design system across all 12 titles, including motion syntax, animation logic, asset pipeline, component-based motion patterns, and design SOPs. Created a code-driven motion pipeline from scratch: BodyMovin/Lottie for Cocos, then Esoteric Spine for sprite-sheet animation and PixiJS as the primary front-end platform. Built interactive Figma prototypes of full game cycles using variables/components/conditional logic to simulate live device behavior (100+ edge cases per game). Mentored junior designers and animators and led design-to-development handoff workflows.
Sr. UX Motion Designer at Mozilla Firefox
September 1, 2021 - February 1, 2022
Established motion syntax, interactive prototypes, motion specs, and micro-animations for an unreleased Mozilla power-user product (Pro Client). Leveraged prior Fluent Design System experience to guide UI transitions and micro-interactions for an original power-user experience.
Product Designer 3 at Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Millenium)
March 1, 2020 - July 1, 2021
Animated sales and employee-facing video series with intentional cinematography, framing, and pacing to land the right emotional tone. Built a reusable Figma-to-After Effects pipeline (AEUX, Overlord) aligned with the Fluent Design System.
Sr. UX Motion Designer at Microsoft EPIC Design Core US
June 1, 2019 - March 1, 2020
Built interactive prototypes for experimental features in Edge and MSN product families using JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Figma, Lottie/BodyMovin, and After Effects. Contributed to early prototypes of Project Malibu (edge://surf), including work that shipped in October 2019: a whale character in final release and a dynamic parallax background. Coded/animated prototype interactions and motion behaviors to support product exploration.
3D Art Director at Golder Associates, Inc.
August 1, 2018 - June 1, 2019
Produced a 40-minute cinematic photorealistic 3D simulation used in court litigation for a train wreck and oil spill disaster in Plainsville, OH. Delivered motion capture (MotionBuilder), LIDAR bathymetry integration, seismic scan data, and animatics, plus AR/VR demos in Unreal Engine—balancing legal/scientific accuracy with emotional resonance for a jury.
Animator at Amazon Galaxy and RUN Studios
May 1, 2017 - August 1, 2018
Produced 100+ animated videos for the entire Alexa suite of devices, Alexa Services, and corporate partners. Evergreened and localized graphics, language, and audio for 11+ countries. Designed templatized After Effects files mapping device UIs 1:1, creating the team’s standard production template to reduce future production time. Delivered work for additional RUN Studios clients including Microsoft, Gerber, and Tableau.
Assistant Creative Director at The Optera Group
January 1, 2016 - May 1, 2017
Produced scientific/medical multimedia for Cisco, Comcast, Covidien, Digital Globe, Medtronic, and VMware. Directed cinematic live-action with deliberate cinematography (jib/crane, dolly moves, OR-grade lighting) and maintained branding consistency during the Covidien/Medtronic merger. Captured motion via OptiTrack and produced 2D/3D animation in After Effects and Cinema 4D.
Lead Animator at Narrasys, Inc.
April 1, 2014 - January 1, 2016
Principal designer/illustrator/animator translating classroom audio into LTI-certified interactive narrative content for Columbia, Purdue, and George Washington universities.
