A commission for a specific group of 4 singers and organ intended for a memorial service and premiered in Suffield Connecticut, U.S.

I selected a Lorca poem, “Tierra” from the suite Conjunto des Espejos and set it in its English translation. The atypical technique of switching off the organ’s air supply mid-performance was utilized as well as special attention to the particular organ’s registration capabilities.
