Grindhouse

Music Militia is a representative music and media company based in London. They are on a mission to showcase the best up and coming underground talent in the UK. As one of their in-house producers I regularly contribute beats for their freestyle series, DJ/MC sets and commercial releases by associated artists.

I have provided all the original music for the Crate 808 hip hop podcast since it began in 2019. Authentic sounds are an absolute must for any music podcast, and my compositions for Crate 808 have helped forge an audio identity that is a key component of the Apple-charting pod’s brand.

I have created 13 original pieces for the pod so far, largely influenced by the 90s hip hop that is their core topic. These pieces include East and West coast variants of the main theme, and always include the main horn motif which has become the show’s trademark. As well as the main theme, I’ve incorporated this motif into tracks influenced by the sounds of artists and producers like Outkast, Wu-Tang Clan, DJ Muggs, DJ Premier, J Dilla, Notorious B.I.G. and DJ Quik to name a few. I have also provided all the original stings and audio effects over this period. Crate 808 has been featured in places such as NME and Ambrosia For Heads.

I created original music for this Soccer Aid promotional video featuring UK rap superstar Bugzy Malone.

My song “Shareware” is the backing music for this video, excerpts of which have over 250k views on Instagram alone.

As a veteran UK grime producer, this brought an authenticity to the soundtrack that would not have been achieved with library music.

I was asked to create a new theme for this 90s hip hop podcast based on the brief they provided. I created a 30 second theme, plus a 1 min 30 second bed for the host to talk over and 10 short stings for transitions within the episodes.

I produced 4 tracks and mixed & mastered 7 tracks from this album by veteran MC Row D. The beats I created for this album cross multiple genres including drill, grime and UK rap.
