Driver Fatigue Detection System — Final Year Project

Designed and developed a real-time driver fatigue detection system to improve road and vehicle safety by automatically identifying early signs of drowsiness. Implemented continuous live video capture using Python and OpenCV to monitor facial features such as eye closure, blink rate, and head position. Applied computer vision algorithms to detect facial landmarks and assess driver alertness based on eye aspect ratio and behavioral patterns. Utilized OpenCV, NumPy, and machine-learning-based detection models to improve system accuracy. Conducted multiple test scenarios to validate system performance under varying lighting and environmental conditions. Documented system architecture, algorithm design, and testing methodology as part of final project submission.
