I am Abril Iglesias Garrido, better known as HULAHOOPS, a 23-year-old Galician artist and illustrator living in Marín, Pontevedra. I have a degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Illustration. My interests are illustration, drawing, painting, textile art, fashion, and installation art. I consider myself an innovative, creative, persevering, and hard-working person who is always practicing and trying new things. I am always trying to learn a little more about everything I love and, in this way, develop technical skills and ideas to create new proposals that are increasingly original, fun, and playful. I am a firm believer that the most important thing will always be to play and have fun. Cartoon illustration I illustrate both traditionally and digitally, depending on the idea I have in mind and what I feel is most appropriate to achieve the result I want. I enjoy trying out different analog techniques and also different types of brushes in Procreate to see what they can offer me, and from there, I gradually build up the illustration. The materials I usually use are: colored pencils, POSCA markers, fine-tip markers, and, in some cases, stickers and collage. On the other hand, what I enjoy most and do most often is children's illustration, which is very colorful and maximalist.
