Once upon a time (around covid), I wrote a musical about a girl who goes on a grand adventure to find where she can light the stars. On this journey she uses wit and storytelling to get out of trouble, she makes unique and varied friends, occasionally she puts on a fancy dress, and most importantly: she has a sword. Hi, I’m Hanna, and stories have always been my favorite way of interacting with the world around me. In fact, my first job out of high school was as a Children’s Storyteller at my local library. My passion for theatre was sparked when I memorized the book Peter and Wendy as a little girl. I loved the story so much my parents took me to see the touring production of Peter Pan for my third birthday. Ever since then, I was hooked on the magic of the stage! I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Utah Valley University so I could continue to share stories in the art forms I love most: live theatre, singing, voice over, and more recently, film. I play fiery characters with “impressive vocal power and endless enthusiasm”. Something I bring to every project is a deep passion for research. Whether it be a modern demi-god, a tragic Victorian fiancé, or a 60s showgirl, I will dive deep into the story. Aka, the cast will get an almost constant stream of fun facts. A recent director nicknamed me “Hermione Granger” because I was determined to know everything about our project, (in this case, about 1812 Russia). This passion brings out a nuanced understanding of text, and an intelligent performance. When I’m not performing, I tackle side quests like: hiking to waterfalls, baking Scandinavian pastries, geeking out at museums, and recently, a valiant attempt at homemade cheese! I hope you come along for all of my adventures! I can promise there will be lots of stories, and hopefully, maybe even a sword :)
